I'm starting from a clean pkgsrc installation on darwin.  Things sure
have gotten a lot easier since i last tried this back in February.
nice work.

I've encountered a dependency loop: 
gettext-lib -> libtool-base -> bash2 -> gettext-lib

any suggestions on how i can break this loop?  

Here's  what i see:
