I've done several of them... I stopped in gnome2-panel / controlcenter because
they do not work properly. You can find them in PR's, but some problem exists
in the underlying libraries. As somebody said, the problem may be in the use
of the PTL2 threading library... Can anybody try to compile the gnome2
packages in a linux system (with pkgsrc), for example?

Another problem is in sysutils/gnome-vfs2. It does not build, because of a
missing gettext function. Reported in a PR too.

Most of the gnome2 libraries are already ported (but not user programs),
though need debugging.
