I should have made clear, I meant, everywhere in "pkgsrc/mk", not
everywhere in "pkgsrc". Still...

I can imagine! I see ":=" being used in bsd.pkg.mk elsewhere for
similar reasons, and that doesn't seem to cause any problems, so I
guess it's OK, then.
