For the m68k, we can at least cross-compile.  For the others, we can
probably distribute the builds (making sure, of course, all participants
are doing so against the same baseline).

I realise that doesn't (fully) address the second half of the problem,
but it was a thought.  I thought it might be worthwhile, anyway.
