after doing some research and talking to some people, it looks like the chance
of a UNIX client is unlikely.  there is a big maybe of a Linux port if they
can get some intel FORTRAN compiler that understands some whacky intel FORTRAN
extensions to work on Linux.  so far intel hasn't been working light speed on
the project.

the client itself runs on linux, it's the cancer specific part that is affected.
there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of getting a linux client done, let alone
a Solaris or NetBSD port.  so, i think it may be best to just give up now.

oh well, such a waste.  guess i'll go look for aliens or something.
