In /etc/mk.conf I define this:

.ifdef(BSD=5FPKG=5FMK)
MANZ=3D1
[more pkg related stuff]
.endif


This does not work with all packages. The packages with a
MANCOMPRESSED=5FIF=5FMANZ  found in the Makefile  do not compress
the manpages at all.

If I remove the .ifdef(BSD=5FPKG=5FMK)  line  the manpages are
installed gzipped.
