Does anyone know why I am having this problem?

I am using CUPS-1.1.4 on NetBSD 1.4.2
After doing the "lpadmin -p DeskJet -E -v parallel:/dev/lpa0 -m deskjet.ppd"
I can print postscript files fine. But when I try and print jpeg files (lpr myfile.jpg),
nothing happens! There no indication of it being logged in the print que either
Also when I print bitmap files, I get the following,
"lpr: unable to print 'myfile.bmp' - error code 40a. "

Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong? I will REALLY appreciate it!
