i'm led to believe (by the presence of .../mutt-1.2.5/contrib/Pine.rc)
that you can get mutt to behave in a rather pine-like manner, although
i'll not admit to ever having tried it.  i like mutt just fine, and
i've never used pine.  okay...maybe four times.
