Then what'll happen when I install 'doc' of 'arc-5.21e' after
installing 'core' of that? (or is it possible?) If we do this, we have
to edit some under /var/log/arc-5.21e. These files and package
database be dynamic. It seems very confusing to me, at least beyond my
imagination. ;-)

I would think the latter better, which should be static infomation.
