Fairly current libtool can handle
   -L/usr/X11R6/lib -Wl,-rpath -Wl,/usr/X11R6/lib
sort of thing (link is using cc).  Can 1.3.5?  Also note above
it's also being passed ``-rpath /usr/X11R6/lib''.
