I couldn't agree more!  :-)

Putting add-on packages in ${PREFIX}/bin is equally annoying.

Just set PREFIX=/usr and be done with it.

(Seriously:  put "PATH=$PATH:/usr/pkg/games ; export PATH" in
/etc/profile and be done with it.  What kind of Unix admin doesn't put
/usr/games in the default path too, BTW?)
