[re-sent after mistyping tech-pkg's address]

Hi,

would it make sense to move the gtk package from $X11BASE to $LOCALBASE? I
ask because I just ran into something funny: I have a machine that doesn't
have X installed, and whenever a package goes into X11BASE it creates that
dir and thus renders the test for $USE_X11 useless as $X11BASE _will_ be
there than, giving no further possibility to check if X is acutally
present on this machine (well, at least not as we do it by now).

Can we resolve this somehow?
