But what "kind" of distinction are you talking about? With a full pkg
database one can assume (for now) that any un-listed file is a part of
the core OS, and that all listed files are owned by their parent
package(s).
If/when the OS install is done via, or at least registered in, this
database then the origin of every file in system directories (and indeed
the directories themselves) will be identifiable.
