Hi,

what about the following proposal:

We distinguish between per-pkg config files and per-host config files. Per-pkg
config files would typically be installed into $(PREFIX)/etc and $(PREFIX)/var
while per-host config files would be installed into /etc and /var.
ssh_host_key is an example for a per-host file.

One then could add an `install-client' target to the package make files to
install the per-host config files on clients importing a /usr/pkg tree from a
file server.
