Here comes an idea I have concerning the selection of the ftp server
where to fetch the distfiles from.

What about adding an option (to /etc/mk.conf) COUNTRY = <country>
which gives the package system an idea of where the nearest (and
therefore fastest) ftp servers are located, relative to the location
of the install machine?

I ask because I see me often ^C a build process because of hanging
ftp connections, and fetching the needed file by hand from a
German mirror site...
