That's a lot more convolution than is needed to find out which of two
possible install points that a dependent pkg is installed.  It's far
easier, especially for documentation read by third-party pkg producers, to
say "just use both."  8-)

I could, of course, say to use ${PREFIX} to find a dependent X11-based pkg,
but that's adding the third piece of confusion that I didn't quite want.
