	It may be a `piece of crap' but I for one have very fond memories of
it.

	Some years ago management bought two AIX boxes.  Thankfully long
since disposed of.  But I had to manage them.  I was therefore forced to use
smit.

	I didn't like it.  I don't like GUI's at all.

	But SMIT had one lovely feature.  It kept a record of all the
commands *it* had issued in response to my pushing puttons.

	I was able to see that list of commands, look up the man pages and
quite quickly stop using smit.

	It taught me what I needed to know.

	Please.  If you must have a GUI, don't let it deny users the
opportunity to learn.
