I tried to find out today, what the benefit of switching
those on or off on a 3c905B-TX (ex) would be.

From my very unscientific tests with 'ttcp -t -s -l 128000'
and 'systat vm 1' I couldn't find a remarkable difference.

The throughput remained the same at about 6.5KB/sec and the
Interrupts were also the same at about 6800/sec.

The system load bar in vmstat was also roughly the same.

Maybe it is my ignorance, but shouldn't offloading the checksum
calculations to the card give some remarkable benefit?

Thanks for enlightenment.

Chris
