It seems that these DACs don't set the passive DAC bit in byte 8 of the
SFP A0 EEPROM. I did a quick hack of the driver to pretend that but was
set and ifconfig -m ixg1 now reports "media 10Gbase-Twinax", but it
doesn't detect a carrier. 

It might be more cost effective for me to buy some "Finisar" optics
from Aliexpress.
