Were you really using locally-administered unicast for NetBSD and
locally-administered multicast for Linux?  I suspect not, and it would
probably be a good idea to not change possibly-relevant details like
those when doing such editing.

I am sorry for the imprecise information, thanks for pointing it out. Both the hardware addresses are unicast, as is hopefully clear from the context of the discussed situation.
