I have two original Metricom radios. I've never tried strip or any
form of starmode with them, but I might be able to kluge up
something. I also haven't powered them up in a couple of years, but
I'm optimistic.

This, however, still seems like a good idea. Personally, I'm content
to let revision control handle the "mothballing" for us, and just
remove it. If we're feeling really conservative, comment it out, wait,
remove it from the config, wait, remote it entirely.
