True - but [AP]F_LOCAL offers more than just performance benefits over
network sockets, such as SCM_RIGHTS and SCM_CREDS messages.  Also, it
works even on machines without networking support (which is not
important for something that already depends on the network, but there
_are_ applications that don't).
