I mean that I, as Emmanuel, would like to see this commited.
Even if it's for current it shouldn't be too hard to back-port to
the 2.0 branch, and this would make my life easier than using third-party
patches.

BTW, the patches I'm using on 1.6.2 are from Hitoshi. Are yours based on his
work ?
