Yes they are bastards.

There is a nice collection of patches for different nameservers,
including bind 8 and 9, at
http://sam.zoy.org/writings/internet/verisign/ .

I am using the patch for bind 8.3.4, the current pkgsrc version, and it
seems to work flawlessly.
