Mine would we ~15k packets/sec @ 10M, and IIRC ~150k packets/sec.
(gigabit has a longet minimum packet size)

Of course, if you are trying to pick up some of the status interrupts
(for stats purposes) you might get even more.  To get 100% utilisation
on a 10M network with 'collisions' requires [1] ~45k collisions/sec.
