1492 should be sufficient, I think... 

- 2 bytes flags/code, 2 bytes session-id, two bytes length, 2 bytes
  ppp protocol field, --- no PPP crc, for PPPoE hm... yes, normal Ethernet
  MTU minus 8, thats, 1492.
