it's exactly what you would type on the command line.  i.e. if you
were to type at the shell prompt:

	ifconfig foo3 inet 123.123.123.123 netmask 255.255.255.0 media utp

your /etc/ifconfig.foo3 would have:

	inet 123.123.123.123 netmask 255.255.255.0 media utp

in it.
