Problems with NetBSD5 RC2 Abit Av8 motherboard and SATA

Mother board Abit Av8 AMD running i386 NetBSD 5 RC2
Booting GENERIC fails
reports lost interrupts on two Samsung SATA drives
repeats for a while and then gives a file system block error.
fsbn0 tn0 cn0 hn0 ....

Boots fine with boot option -2

Dont have the dmesg from the default boot though if need be I can work out a serial console to capture it.

Both with and without boot option -2 I get the following message

cpu0: erratum 89 present
cpu0: WARNING: errata present, BIOS upgrade may be
cpu0: WARNING: necessary to ensure reliable operation

I have upgraded the bios to the latest from the abit site. version BIOS ID 28 released 2006/05/07.

Dmesg from boot -2
