would be "devfsctl" or "devctl". Why did you choose dctl?

"devfsctl" seems rather long, "devctl" seems ok but we aren't really
controlling devices. I don't particularly care what it's called. If a few
more people pick one of your choices, I'll switch.

I don't have a strong opinion here but I'd prefer devfsctl because it seems more obvious, natural and in line with things like raidctl, wsconsctl, scsictl and so on. With <drivername>ctl there's no room for ambiguity, which is a good thing IMHO.
