I don't really know where to put this. Technically savecore/libkvm is userland. Dumping is kernel, but the problem might well be amd64-specific.

I dumped a 4.0beta2/amd64 (typing sync in DDB) and upon reboot, savecore said "no core dump".

I gdb'd savecore -n -v and the test that fails is the check for dumpmagic in dump_exists.
