I know it is another chip than bktr now... My chip has product id 0x8811
for the audio part rather than 0x8801 as per NetBSD's pcidev. I noticed
because I was used to seeing

Conexant Systems CX23880/1/2/3 Video Decoder (video multimedia, revision 0x05) at pci0 dev 14 function 0 not configured
Conexant Systems CX23880/1/2/3 Audio Decoder (miscellaneous multimedia, revision 0x05) at pci0 dev 14 function 1 not configured
Conexant Systems CX23880/1/2/3 MPEG Transport Stream (miscellaneous multimedia, revision 0x05) at pci0 dev 14 function 2 not configured
Conexant Systems CX23880/1/2/3 General Purpose (IR) (miscellaneous multimedia, revision 0x05) at pci0 dev 14 function 4 not configured

with my patch, but booted from a NetBSD install CD to see

Conexant Systems CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video/Audio Decoder (video multimedia, revision 0x05) at pci0 dev 14 function 0 not configured
Conexant Systems product 0x8811 (miscellaneous multimedia, revision 0x05) at pci0 dev 14 function 1 not configured
Conexant Systems CX23880/1/2/3 PCI MPEG Port (miscellaneous multimedia, revision 0x05) at pci0 dev 14 function 2 not configured
Conexant Systems CX23880/1/2/3 PCI IR Port (miscellaneous multimedia, revision 0x05) at pci0 dev 14 function 4 not configured

So, first got excited that it was recognised, and then wondered about the
lack of audio decoder. (0x8811 and 0x8801 both do that job)

Cheers,

Patrick
