Good point - I thought we'd return EINVAL or something on hardware that 
can't switch colour depth but when the user requests just the single 
right depth we should probably let it through.
I'm not sure here - the user ( or rather, the userland tool that's 
trying to talk to the driver ) would know which depth we're running in 
so requesting a switch to that depth would at least be a waste.
To rehash another thread from a few months ago - the graphics info 
ioctl() needs to be expanded to allow stuff like multiple framebuffer 
mappings, supported colour depths etc.
