I tried writing some files to DVD with growisofs as described in
http://www.mreriksson.net/blog/archive/15/ but I had a core dump due to
an assert error in libpthread. Here is the command and the result:

$ growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/rcd0d -J -R ~carol/DVD/

I thought it overloaded the capacity but the disk only had about 3.3GB
on it at the end. I tried a second DVD in case it was bad media but it
failed too.
