CGD autoconfig, similar to what RAIDframe does?
(Maybe the initial suggestion wasn't that far off, seeing that the
solutions here are all rather non-simple :)
while cgd autoconfig itself might be a good idea, i've always liked the
ability of linux to replace root (initrd) at some later stage. it's a
generic solution to many problems that one might have in the real world.
i'd hope that _most_ cases and people wouldn't need it but having the
feature (preferably implemented in a way that doesn't make most of us
unhappy) would be a bonus.
