Hello,

eventually I have spotted what was wrong in the ACPI on my machine. The 
call to acpi_eval_struct with '_BST' as a parameter (I assume for 
'battery status') causes the thing to reboot without any warning.

The same call with '_BIF' works all right.

Since acpi_eval_struct dives directly into the Intel ACPI code, I was 
wondering if anything had changed in this code between kernel 99.12 
which works fine and 99.13 and seq. which are broken.
