Jason, I'm not arguing with that viewpoint. But note, the context I
replied to was where der Mouse specifically wanted an API which was
explicitly not SYSVSHM (with its funky namespace) or, as far as I can
tell, POSIX RT shared memory.

In that context, your response is... well, calling it a non-sequitur
is putting it mildly.

Again, I don't particularly want to argue with your end conclusion.
