The shortest development path would be to hook a serial kbd at an empty
serial port making txkbd device to route kbd event stream into wskbd.  Old
SPARCstation kbd should have an ample supply.  You and your team has
been spending a lot of time to accomplish rather simple task.  I estimate
the initial wscons effort costs less than 1 week before something visible
on screen if any of qualified NetBSD developers is involved.
