No, this is a SCSI tape on a BusLogic parallel-SCSI host adapter on an
i386, a Tyan Tiger MP with a 1.3GHz Athlon XP to be precise.  It's 
interesting that you're seeing a similar symptom with a scsipi device
attached to an ATAPI bus, though.
