These are all on recent nathanw_sa kernels:

BCM1250 (mips64) @ 500MHz, dual CPU core, running on single core only:
        unlock overhead: 0.602182 s (0.006022 us/loop)
        RAS: 3.806707 s (0.038067 us/loop)
        cpu locks (inlined): 8.817595 s (0.088176 us/loop)
        cpu locks (not inlined): 7.817234 s (0.078172 us/loop)

Au1000 (mips32) @ 396MHz:
        unlock overhead: 1.011317 s (0.010113 us/loop)
        RAS: 3.791588 s (0.037916 us/loop)
        cpu locks (inlined): 8.594268 s (0.085943 us/loop)
        cpu locks (not inlined): 11.121816 s (0.111218 us/loop)

R4400 (mips3) @ 120MHz:
        unlock overhead: 5.032031 s (0.050320 us/loop)
        RAS: 16.765810 s (0.167658 us/loop)
        cpu locks (inlined): 15.929504 s (0.159295 us/loop)
        cpu locks (not inlined): 28.502661 s (0.285027 us/loop)
