good point.  how about ttyo0 or tty0O (that's the letter o, lower and
upper case)?

it doesn't seem to be used in any case.

on a related issue, i can't see where the install media gets its /etc/ttys
file from (if they have one). with pccons, do we actually need /dev/ttyv0
(e.g, major 4 on i386) if /dev/console (major 0) exists?
