mmmm foot - good.  Actually, etags does things differently, hence my
comment. Etags parses the file when it generates the TAGS file and
stores the line numbers & character positions whereas ctags looks to
store a regexp of how to find the function in the file.  As to which
is "better" we can leave that to the philosophers (but, please, not on
the list ;-)
