Notes on reent install of 10.0_RC4 on amd64 HP T730 thin client

I've spent several hours trying to instal NetBSD 10.0_RC4 on an HP T730 "thin client".
I cannot get it to boot either the (U)EFI or the BIOS install images; possibly something funky about the BIOS' UEFI-vs-legacy detection.

I burnt the ISO image to to a physical CD, and that does boot. Installing sets seems to have worked.
However, using sysinst to configure the target fails. All the GPT wedges are detached once the last set is instaled.
Thus, a;ll(?) the "config" menu entries all fail: Creating a user fails, there is no /home. Same for setting a root password, or saving network config to the (target) /etc. Am I the only one seeing this??

Installing pkgin and pkg metadata also failed. I _think_ that after exiting sysinst, then exiting the shell (thus returning to sysinst) then re-doing the installation of pkgin, the pkgin tools were actually installed.

I can't really tell, though, because this particular machine hangs hard immediately after printing kern.module.path.
(perhaps due to drm and the Radeon HD 9000-based graphics!?).
