Emmanuel Dreyfus asked;

I would like to add a few GPIO pins to a machine that has none for now.
The possible extensions are SMB or USB. So I am looking for a SMB to
GPIO or USB to GPIO adapter that works nicely on NetBSD. Someone has
some harware to recommand?

Two possiblities come into my mind;

case 1. USB<>GPIO
case 2. I2C<>GPIO "IO expander"

For case 1 instance, I would suggest handy USB products like;
http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=7841
http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=199

I have no specific product info of I2C IO expander this moment.

Actually a chip for case 2 exists, I even wrote a BSD driver for it and have it in use @work. If it's of interest I will dig up the information.
