   Ah, didn't see that defflag'd anywhere, I added the drm_external attribute 
   to i915drm instead..
   
yeah.

the idea is that you set options DRM_EXTERNAL and it all just works
for the new code.  but "makeoptions" can't take complex conditionals
and i can't figure out a way to do this without forcing the old code
users to add "options DRM_NOEXTERNAL".  perhaps that's OK. :)
