unfortunately, the change to dev/ic/z8530sc.h causes the following 
on macppc and sparc:

/tmp/spabuild.out:/home/dogcow/work/nbsrc/sys/arch/sparc/dev/zs.c:432: error: 'kmutex_t' has no member named 'lock_data'

as they both do simple_lock_init(&cs->cs_lock);
