Log Message:
- fix pointer problems and unsigned int -> int confusion that lead to
  undetected errors.
- factor out the socket creation code so that we don't have 4 copies.
- add -p <port> argument
- fix the majority of the lint problems.
- change all the strncpy's to strlcpy's.
