Are you really merging changes from gdb-5.0 into 5.3, or just our 
thread support stuff?

GDB 5.3 works out-of-box on several NetBSD platforms, and on those 
platforms, NO LOCAL CHANGES from our 5.0 should be preserved, with the 
exception of thread support.
