   | ".CVS" dirs instead of "CVS" dirs.  now i can just put "cvs -D .CVS"

at least as much credit is due to thorpej.  the "cvs diff -rFSF" in the
GCC3 tree is *tiny*.  this will change when VAX ELF support goes in
(HI MATT!)..  also credit is due to tv, for the original mknative and
reach-over build infrastructure.  it has not been overly difficult to
adapt this to GCC3.

(i'll post a real status report on gcc3 soon... ;-)
