Both MACH and DARWIN use it. It is just a few lines of code... I contemplated
moving it in the compat/mach tree, but I decided against it for now. I really
don't like compat ifdefs in the MI code. In addition, the definitions for
the record are not ifdef'ed of course because userland will need them...
