stack garbage as the initial value for dflag means that passing
arguments to ppt makes it emit the usage.

argv handling in the argv loop wasn't adjusted for the getopts usage
(argc/argv are now adjusted).

i also found the bits that print the newlines a tad eager.

shall i simply commit my fix?
